Resume education top or bottom. You are more than a degree. For new grads i will put the education at the top as it is more important. If you are in school just graduated or have been out of school for less than three years your education information should be at the top. After full contact data and a brief summary of the persons over all capabilities divide the resume into sections.
Generally the top of the page will be reserved for the most focal point of your resume if you went to a non target but got in at a great company with a strong brand name i would move education down the moment you started work. For experienced hires i normally will put education at the bottom of the resume unless it is an ivy league or highly ranked school or program. Here is an outline that works. I also will selectively list gpa more important for new grads. Employers buy results and experience and that comes first focuse. Current students or recent college graduates will likely want to put the education section towards the top of their resume.
Just because the hiring company does not ask for a transcript of your college or high school records does not mean that claims about your education are going unchecked.
